To kick off our first week of Ironstone Impact, we are donating $10,000 to Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario.
Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario is a non-profit, non-denominational housing organization that welcomes partners without discrimination to help build simple, decent homes that are purchased by lower-income families and individuals through an affordable mortgage model. With the help of volunteers, and community partners, Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario has built a total of 113 homes in the 6 counties they serve, including London and area.
“We chose Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario to be the recipient of our first Ironstone Impact donation because we understand that one of the best ways to combat the housing shortage is by increasing the housing supply,” says Dave Stimac, Ironstone President & Co-founder.
As a recipient of Ironstone Impact last year, we learned that our donation went towards the four home builds that Habitat completed with the Munsee-Delaware Nation for Indigenous families on Traditional Territory. This year our donation will help the organization with their upcoming multi-family build project in London that will bring affordable Habitat homeownership to 20 families in our community.
“We are very thankful to be selected by Ironstone again this year as a recipient of their Ironstone Impact donation,” says Brian Elliot, CEO Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario. “Ironstone’s continued support of Habitat’s mission shows their commitment to helping build safe, decent and affordable housing in our community.”
We are grateful for the impact that the team at Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario is making within London and the surrounding areas. We are also happy to support their team again this year.
