For our seventh week of Ironstone Impact, we are donating $10,000 to St. Joseph’s Hospice – Patient and Community Care Fund.
St. Joseph’s Hospice offers 24-hour state-of-the-art palliative care services provided by specially trained medical care staff and volunteers. In addition to palliative care, the hospice provides bereavement support and wellness groups for the individuals in palliative care and their families.
Our donation this year will be directed towards the Patient and Community Care Fund and assist with the financial costs associated to hospice care such as the staff, programs, and services offered.
“In order to operate and offer our services at no cost to our patients, we must raise 1.2 million every year. As only 50% of our operating funds are from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, we rely on the generosity of companies such as Ironstone to ensure we can continue to offer our services. When you come into hospice, it feels warm and welcoming; really a relief for caregivers and their families at the end of life. At hospice we can focus on brightening their day, sharing special stories, bringing in treats, and creating memories together all in a home like environment,” says Wendy Boyle, Director of Resident Care at St. Joseph’s Hospice.
We are happy to support the team at St. Joseph’s Hospice and are very grateful for their impact within London, Ontario.
